I have coached triathletes and runners for 10 years and coached swimming for 20 years as an age group coach with experience in summer league swimming, club teams, and for 10 years as a high school head coach. I was a USA certified Triathlon Coach for over 10 years, a USA Swimming Coach for 20, and a current USA Masters Swimming Coach. I have been competing in triathlons, running, and cycling events for 20+ years and have been named USAT All-American 9x, and several times also honored with a title of Ironman All World Athlete, am a 2x National Age Group USA Cycling Gravel Champion. I raced as a pro triathlete from 2015-2019.
I began swimming competitively at age eight and swam through college for the UNM Lobos. Throughout high school I also participated in soccer and track. In 2014 I earned my elite triathlon license and raced in the professional field for four years. I have finished top female in numerous triathlons and cycling races throughout the Southwest, and own several course records. Currently my focus is in gravel bike racing, I compete as a Cat 3 cyclist, in all running distances, dip into some local triathlons, and I continue to swim on a masters team. I have competed and excelled in all distances of triathlons. I have 10 Ironman finishes under my belt, qualified and competed in the Ironman World Championships in 2003, 2014, and 2022, the 70.3 World Championships in 2013. and Boston Marathon in 2021 and 2022.
I received my bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico in Elementary and Special Education in 2002 and earned my master’s degree from New Mexico State University in Educational Administration in 2008. Along with triathlon coaching, I am employed by Albuquerque Public Schools as a special education teacher for Project SEARCH.
